dentritic pattern:
-treelike appearance
-occurs in areas with fairly homogeneous rocks and little distortion by faulting and folding.erosion occurs fairly evenly in all directions

trellis pattern:
-tributaries meet main river at right angles
-occurs at areas where rocks are folded into alternating bands of hard and soft rocks
-main river cuts through resistant rocks while tributaries flow along joints between weaker and more resistant rocks to meet the main river

parallel pattern:
-rivers flow in parallel course
-occurs in areas with parallel folds

radial pattern:
